In preparation for the virtual concert experience, Pacific Ballroom Dance hosted a drive-by cast party the day of concert, complete with decked-out decorated booths and overjoyed team coaches!

Dancers and Parents came from near and far to participate in Pacific Ballroom’s second Drive-by Cast Party due to COVID restrictions. They lined up in their cars around the studio and were greeted by dancing, dressed up coaches, Christmas music blasting and goodies to enjoy later on that evening for the show. This was the second Drive-by Cast Party that PBD has hosted since the first drive-by cast experience with last spring’s concert, Mosaic. Junior Premier member, Maryn Longhurst loved the drive by cast party idea! She said, “I think that the cast drive-by went well and it was cool how we all had booths and we got to vote on the best one! I think that would be a cool thing to keep going into the future”.

The parent committee did an incredible job preparing booths for each team and did an amazing job with setup and design. Each team booth was themed accordingly with a dance from that team. Preteen Premier was beautifully decorated with handmade drawings from one of the team members, Helena Leonard, and Preteen Show’s booth was decorated to match their beautiful Viennese waltz: “Humble and Kind“. Junior Show’s booth was complete with disco ball ornaments for their disco/cha cha and Junior Premier parents blew us away with their stunning “Kwanzaa” booth! Youth Show’s booth also looked amazing with their “Rain On Me” inspired design and Youth Premier paid tribute to the opener and theme for the show “At This Table” with stunning fresh garlands and candles. The Stars booth was themed after their pieces, “Hope—Together—Believe” and was oh so cute. Oh! And we can’t forget Monique’s amazing winter wonderland booth, representing our syllabus classes and always bringing the joy we needed! Truly, each tent was so unique and the dancers and parents loved driving by to view each booth! Team members voted on which booth they loved the most and despite it being a close call, Junior Premier’s Kwanzaa booth received the most votes and won a pretty incredible prize of goodie bags and hot chocolate!

Overall, the drive-by cast party was a huge success thanks to the parent committee, the PBD staff and all those who stopped by to join in the fun. It was a fantastic start to a thrilling evening of dancing.
