2024 Key Dates (Apr-Dec)

APRIL 2024

06 • Free Workshop (Grades 4-12)

For grades 4th-12th. Come learn fun, basic ballroom steps. No experience or partner required. Bring your friends!

19-20 • Extreme DanceSport Invitational – Rigby, ID

For Individual Competitors and Cabaret & Ladies Competition Teams. An out of state competition for Individual competitors, Cabaret and Ladies competition teams. All dancers participating on competition teams will be responsible for all travel,   accommodation, and food (individual travel).

22-26 • Friends Week

For anyone ages 3-12th Grade. PBD dancers can invite their friends to join Performing Teams for a day of dancing. Specific days and times for friends to visit teams are listed here: https://pacificballroom.org/friends/. Please fill out a consent form before participating.

New Friends (PreTeen 4th grade -Youth 12th grade) are also invited to participate in PBDs Summer Concert for FREE and experience a small taste of what its like to perform with a team in the performing companys final dance number. MAY 2024

04 • PBD Prom

PBD Students in High School. PBD high school students are invited to a formal evening of socializing and treats. The PBD Youth Leadership Council (YLC) and Parent Committee helps with planning themes and organizing this event.

04 • Stars Kids Imagination & Dance Camp

Ages 4-6. Day camps captivating kids imaginations by engaging creativity in adventurous, theatrical, social and dance movement activities. May is “Cartoon Fun Camp” where kids will learn the Swing. https://pacificballroom.org/camps/

11 • Free Workshop (Grades 4-12)

For students grades 4th-12th. Come learn fun, basic ballroom steps. No experience or partner required. Bring your friends!

18 • Quest for the Best Competition

For all Dancers. A local dance competition. Individual competitors and some performing teams. This competition is perfect for a first time competitor.

27 • No Classes – Holiday Break

JUNE 2024

12-15 • Summer Concert – Rehearsals/Shows

Full Performing Company/Including STARS Performing Teams. Exact schedule will be announced closer to the this date.

17-18 • Last week of Classes/Teams 23-24 Season
19-21 • Performing Team Auditions 2024-25 Season

Grades 4th-12th. Dancers are invited to audition for Performing Teams starting the following season. All dancers wanting to be considered for an advanced (A) level team must audition. Dancers who choose to participate on a B level team are encouraged but not required to audition.

20-22 • Medals Exams

By recommendation only. Academy dancers Bronze 1 and up who have been recommended to test out of their current academy class will schedule and take exams with the Academy Director.

22 • Full Company Cast Party

For All PBD Families. Hosted by the Parent Committee. Details coming!

JULY 2024

01 • Enrollment for Performing Teams Opens
08 • Beginning of Summer Programming

Grades 4th-12th. Open enrollment Summer Programming.

AUGUST 2024

03 • Teaching Assistant Training

For the 2024-25 season teaching assiants

05-08 • Studio Boot Camp Week

Grades 4th-12th. Academy classes and Performing Teams have sessions. Preteen, Junior, Youth Teams. A week of team practices that include learning team choreography and formation team training during this week of extended team practices.

09 • Team Socials, Orientation & Welcome Dance

Opening team socials will be scheduled by coaches. A studio orientation/Q&A will be held in the evening. Come learn about the season and get all your questions answered. A welcome dance for Preteen, Juniors, and Youth will also be held that evening.

12 • 2024-25 Full Season Schedule Begins

All PBD programs. The regular full season schedule begins for all programs (except Stars)

13-15 • Stars Kids Camp – Week 1

Ages 3yrs-3rd Grade. A week of dancing, crafts, games, and meeting new friends! This week dancers will learn about the Latin dance style. The last day of camp will include a short demonstration for the parents.

20-22 • Stars Kids Camp Week 2

Ages 3yrs-3rd Grade. A week of dancing, crafts, games and meeting new friends! This week dancers will learn about the Ballroom dance style. The last day of camp will include a short demonstration for the parents.

SEPTEMBER 2024

02 • No Classes – Holiday Break
07 • PBD Family Mixer & Garage Sale -TBD

For All PBD Families. Hosted by the Parent Committee. This event is like a community block party with a potluck, dancing, live entertainment, and a used dance gear garage sale!

09-14 • Competition Team Auditions

For any Ballroom dancer grades 3rd-12th. Students can choose to audition for a competition team allowing dancers to participate and travel to various ballroom dance competitions during the competition season (Oct – Mar). Competition teams are classified by age level (Preteen, Junior, Youth) and sometimes according to style (Latin, Ballroom). Check this page for more detailed information as auditions get closer:

17 • National Dance Day
20 • Donor Appreciation Dinner

By Invitation Only. An appreciation dinner dedicated to our PBD donors. A presentation from department directors will give a brief overview of progress in the organization.

28 • Quest for the Best Competition – Auburn, WA

Individual Competitors & some Performing Teams (team coaches will announce participation). A local dance competition.

30 • Open Enrollment Ends – Performing Teams

2yrs-12 grade. New students can enroll in B level Performing teams through September 31st. The next Open Enrollment period will start in December.

OCTOBER 2024

03-06 • Summit DanceSport – Seattle, WA

19 • Competition Information Fair

For Families & Students participating on Competition Teams. Visit the studio and learn more about the formation team competition season including travel, food, lodging, preparation etc. Bring your questions and get them answered!

25 • Youth Costume Ball (Grades 4-12)

4th-12th Grade. A fundraiser for those on Competition Teams who want to participate in that aspect of it. However, it will be an event for all dancers, regardless of whether they are fundraising or not. 

26 • Halloween Party/Social (Adults) – Ages 18+

28-31 • Friends Week

23 • Academy Harvest Ball

S2 Ballroom Dance Movement – Gold Bar Academy Classes. This is an all studio event celebrating our Academy Program students with various fun dancing activities & demonstrations. All Academy dancers should plan on attending with the exception of M&M Stars and STARS 1 Dance Movement.

27-30 • No Classes – Holiday Break

DECEMBER 2024

TBA • Adult Winter Showcase – 7-10pm

03 • Full Performing Team Rehearsal – Winter @ Studio

Full Performing Company/No STARS Performing Teams. Exact schedule & details will be announced closer to this date. Held at the studio.

04 • Winter Concert – Rehearsal @ Theater

Full Performing Company/Including STARS Performing Teams. This is a theater tech and dress rehearsal held at the theater. All dancers are required to have their performance attire, hair and make-up done. Exact schedule & details will be announced closer to this date.

05 • Winter Concert – Show #1

Full Performing Company/Including STARS Performing Teams. Exact schedule will be announced closer to the this date.

06 • Winter Concert – Show #2

Full Performing Company/Including STARS Performing Teams. Exact schedule will be announced closer to the this date.

07 • Open Enrollment Begins – Performing Teams

Performing Teams. New students can enroll in B level Performing Teams and STARS Performing Teams through January 15th. Enrollment for next season will open in the spring. Performing Team auditions for advanced level teams will be held in June & enrollment for all performing teams will open July 1st.

All Ballroom/Latin Competition Teams. A parent watch week for competitive teams to perform.

10-15 • PBD Spring Break – No Teams/Classes (Stars-Youth)
11-15 • BYU National Championships – Provo, UT

For Individual Competitors and All Competition Teams (Except Cabaret & Ladies Teams). An out of state competition for Individual competitors and competition teams. This is the longest competition PBD participates in. All dancers participating on competition teams will be responsible for all travel, accommodation, and food (individual travel).
